  Project Description

  Geographical Coverage:
States of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska

  Project Purpose:
The Region viewed the Comparative Risk Project as an opportunity to build a solid framework for risk-based strategic planning

  Ranking Process:
Three Region 7 technical Media Teams (Air, Toxics, and Pesticides, Waste, and Water) produced separate Human Health and Ecological Risk Ratings. The Media Teams presented their research at the Region 7 Comparative Risk and Strategic Planning Conference. At this conference, two breakout groups (Human Health and Ecological Priorities) took these Media Team reports into consideration before constructing their own separate Cross-Media Prioritizations. The breakout groups later reconvened and constructed the Consensus Prioritizations.
