  Project Purpose:
The purpose of the Florida Comparison of Environmental Risk project was to determine which environmental problems pose the greatest risks to Florida.

  Ranking Process:
The Florida Comparison of Environmental Risks project was divided into three phases:

Phase 1 - A technical assessment phase
Phase 2 - A public review phase
Phase 3 - A strategy development phase

The ranking took place during Phases 1 and 2. In Phase 1, each of the three Technical Committees (Human Health, Quality of Life, and Ecosystems) assessed the best available scientific information regarding a list of critical environmental issues and then ranked these issues. In Phase 2, the Public Advisory Committee took into consideration these rankings and public comments to construct their final Integrated Ranking of Environmental Risks.
